Starting Fresh: Laser Tattoo Removal for Your Permanent Makeup
Not happy with your current permanent makeup? Maybe your brows have faded to an unwanted color, or you're ready for a completely new shape. At Lashious Studio, we understand that sometimes you need a clean slate before creating your dream brows.
Laser tattoo removal gives you exactly that opportunity.
How Laser Tattoo Removal Works
Laser tattoo removal uses concentrated light energy to break down tattoo ink particles in your skin. The laser shatters large ink particles into smaller pieces that your body's immune system can naturally absorb and eliminate through the lymphatic system.
While regular tattoos typically require 6-10 sessions for complete removal, permanent makeup pigments are much easier to clear. Most clients need only 1-3 sessions to remove enough pigment for a fresh start with new brows.
Your Laser Removal Appointment
When you come in for laser removal, here's what you can expect:
First, we'll have you fill out some paperwork and discuss your goals for your new brows. We'll take before photos to track your progress, then perform a small test spot to make sure you're comfortable with the sensation.
During the actual procedure, you'll feel the laser working on the pigmented area. Afterward, some redness around the treated area is completely normal, and the skin may feel tender for a short time. You might notice your eyebrow hair looking lighter or "frosted" temporarily, but this should fade pretty quickly.
We'll finish by soothing the area with an ice pack to minimize any discomfort.
How Many Sessions Will You Need?
The number of sessions depends on several factors: the color, tone, darkness, saturation, and age of your permanent makeup pigment. Most clients find that 1-2 sessions are enough to remove sufficient pigment for beautiful new brows.
Even if you don't want complete removal, clearing some of the old pigment creates a better canvas for your new permanent makeup.
What to Expect After Treatment
Right after your session, the lasered area will often appear red, orange, or yellow. This happens because we target the blue particles in the ink first. Don't worry if your eyebrow hair looks slightly blonde or white temporarily. We work carefully to protect your natural hair and try our best to move it out of the way during treatment.
The skin around your brows will likely be a little red for about an hour as your skin responds to the laser. This irritation is normal and fades quickly.
Timing Your Fresh Start
After laser removal, you'll need to wait at least 6 weeks before having new permanent makeup applied. This healing period is essential whether you're planning a second laser session or ready for your new brows.
This waiting period gives your skin time to fully recover and ensures the best possible results for your new permanent makeup.
Why Choose Laser Removal?
Starting with a clean canvas means better color results, more precise shaping, and longer-lasting permanent makeup. Instead of working around old pigment that might affect your new color, laser removal lets us create exactly the brows you want.
At Lashious Studio, we've helped many clients transition from permanent makeup they didn't love to brows that make them feel confident every morning. Whether your old brows have faded to an unflattering color or you simply want a completely new look, laser removal opens up all the possibilities.
